Buddy scheme
This voluntary scheme at MFT provides near-peer support where FY2s buddy new FY1 doctors.
FY1s benefit from the guidance and experience of their buddies, who themselves gain skills in mentorship and can help the FY1s to make a smooth transition from medical student to doctor. Read here for the background to the peer mentor scheme which is one of the recommendations of the Postgraduate Medical Foundation Programme Review.
Buddy scheme 2024
A buddy scheme will be running on all three sites from August 2024. Current F1s will receive an invitation to participate as a buddy (F2). If you would like more information about the scheme, please contact your FPA in the first instance.
